The Sunstation module has been engineered to provide a waterproof barrier. There’s no need for any unwieldy or time-consuming sub-frame to be installed.
Until now, all BIPV modules have been assembled by hand in the factory. Sunstation is different. It’s been manufactured in exactly the same automated way as any normal PV module – which ensures that the quality is high while the cost stays low.
The Sunstation modules lock together using our ingenious interlock design. The seamless joints between the modules means that not one thing stands proud. Only one side of the module is screwed to the battens, making the system super-fast to install.
And we’ve built in just a little ‘shunt’ in the interlock. This means you can still make fine adjustments to the angle of the module, to keep the array in line with the geometry of a real-life roof.
“The interlock design is a no-brainer. It’s streets ahead; simpler, faster, slicker, more space-efficient and better-looking. The interlock design is the best in-roof product I have seen.”
Around the Sunstation is a hidden gutter. This means far less of the perimeter is visible, which maintains the system’s great looks. The gutter fits with tile, slate and profiled tiles for great compatibility.
The sections of perimeter slide into position and stack inside each other (the way that glasses do). So you don’t even have to measure to know when it’s in the right place – and because the sections are nested in position, you need fewer fixings too.
Sunstation is tested and certified to the same industry standards as the roofing it will replace, and has been designed to perform as well as conventional tiles and slates.
Of course, it’s also tested against demanding international standards for any solar product.
